Government proposal to Parliament for an Act amending the Alcohol Act

It is proposed to amend the Alcohol Act.

Under the Proposal, the Alcohol Act would be amended to allow the government-owned alcohol company AlkoOy and licensed retail operators to sell alcoholic beverages online and permit other retail distribution andcollection options, such as the supply of alcoholic beverages. Domestic sales for home delivery would complywith the derogations for craft breweries, small breweries and farm wines, taking into account the existingstrength limits for domestic retail sales. Consequently, alcoholic beverages could also be delivered topurchasers from the point of retail sale of farm wines and craft beers. According to the Proposal, theamendments would be implemented in a way that safeguards age limit control.
