Sprayers for spraying plant-protection products in the open air

Royal Decree amending the Royal Decree of 19 March 2013 on achieving a sustainable use of plant-protection products and adjuvants

The proposed amendment aims at requiring a minimum 75 % reduction in the drift of plant protectionproducts to be achieved at sprayer level. The obligation will take effect from 2026.

All sprayers subject to the mandatory control and used for outdoor spraying will be required to use drift-reducing nozzles or other materials and techniques listed in the Ministerial Decree of 1 April 2021 establishingthe drift-reducing agents or measures and which together lead to at least 75 % drift reduction. The obligationwill take effect from 2026. From then on, this will also be included in the mandatory inspection of the sprayers.
