This draft order proposes to introduce reaction to fire requirements for exterior walls of buildings and toremove the fire resistance requirements laid down in the essential requirements for fire safety.

Draft amendment of Order No. 1-338 of 7 December 2010 of the Director of the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior approving the “Essential requirements for fire safety”

The draft Order is being drawn up with the goal of clarifying the regulation by applying the requirements forexterior walls of Table 2 of paragraph 40 of the essential requirements for fire safety approved by Order No. 1-338 of 7 December 2010 of the Director of the Fire and Rescue Department under the Ministry of the Interior(hereinafter – the Rules). In line with the amendments to Table 2 of paragraph 40, paragraphs 61 and 62,which lay down the requirements for exterior walls, roofs and overlays for the division of buildings into firecompartments, are amended.

Paragraphs 80 and 83 of the draft Order are amended to regulate the reaction to fire requirements forconstruction projects used for exterior thermal insulation systems (field wall insulation and finishing layers) inorder to harmonise the terms used in existing legislation of the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic ofLithuania. It is also foreseen to amend (repeal) paragraphs 81, 82 and 84 of the Rules.
