Draft Decree of the Ministry of the Economy of the Slovak Republic amending Decree No 119/2013 of theMinistry of the Economy of the Slovak Republic implementing certain provisions of Act No 94/2013 onhallmarking and testing of precious metals

Under the current legislation, very low-weight goods are not subject to a mandatory hallmark check (Section24(1)(a)(3) of Act No 94/2013). The limit for these goods is defined in Section 13(1) of Decree No 119/2013.For gold and platinum goods, the limit is increased from 0.5 g to 1 g, for silver goods from 2 g to 3 g. Thisamendment reduces the quantity of goods that merchants of precious metals must present for hallmarkchecks, while maintaining the obligation to affix the goods with a fine number if technically possible.

In the area of marking goods with responsibility marks, Act No 94/2013 on hallmarking and testing of preciousmetals (the Hallmarking Act) and amending certain acts, as amended, will be aligned with Decree No 119/2013of the Ministry of the Economy of the Slovak Republic implementing certain provisions of Act No 94/2013 onthe hallmarking and testing of precious metals (the Hallmarking Act) and amending certain acts, as amended.
