Edible vegetable oils

ROYAL DECREE ADOPTING THE QUALITY STANDARD FOR EDIBLE VEGETABLE OILS.

The purpose of this Royal Decree is to lay down the quality standards applicable to the production andmarketing of edible vegetable oils, with the exception of olive oils and olive-pomace oils, regulated by itsspecific standard. It furthermore lays down the names, characteristics and labelling provisions relating to thelabelling of the oils covered by this provision.

This quality standard shall replace the standard currently governing these products, Royal Decree 308/1983, of25 January 1983, adopting the Technical Health Regulations for Comestible Vegetable Oil.
This draft Royal Decree concerns industries that produce vegetable oils in Spain, the operators placing themon the market and consumers. It also has an indirect influence on the suppliers of the raw materials from whichthese products can be made.
