The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s regulations on accessibility and usabilityfor persons with reduced mobility or orientation capabilities in buildings.

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning is proposing new regulations on accessibilityand usability for persons with reduced mobility or orientation capabilities in buildings. The new regulationscomprise four chapters.

Chapter 1 contains general provisions on, inter alia, the scope of the regulations, construction products andmaterials, design and construction, building modification and verification of compliance.
Chapter 2 contains provisions on design requirements when constructing new buildings.
Chapter 3 contains provisions on technical requirements when constructing new buildings.
Chapter 4 contains provisions on requirements when modifying buildings. The provisions lay down, inter alia,how compliance with the requirements laid down in Chapters 2 and 3 may be adjusted when modifyingbuildings.
