The notified document supersedes the current system for certifying short-range devices, carried out by the Under-Secretariat for Telecommunications in accordance with its Exempt Resolution No. 1.985 of 2017, which establishes the technical standard for short-range devices. It provides for a new system under which manufacturers and importers verify compliance with the provisions of the Resolution directly, and then include a QR code in the box, wrapping or packaging of each device, with a link to a website providing trade and technical information that proves compliance with the regulations. The Under-Secretariat maintains sole responsibility for certifying medical equipment.
