All animals (domestic animals, farm animals, test animals, wild animals) are concerned. The services concerned include in particular the keeping, slaughtering and trading of animals.

Draft Act amending the Animal Welfare Act and the Act Prohibiting Trade in Animal Products

This Act amending the Animal Welfare Act closes legislative and enforcement gaps concerning animalwelfare and brings the existing animal welfare provisions into line with current scientific and practicalknowledge. For example, animal tethering is to be fundamentally stopped, non-curative interventions are to besignificantly reduced and video surveillance is to be introduced at slaughterhouses. In addition, new rules tocombat the illegal pet trade are also to be included. The aim is to comprehensively reinforce animal welfare.
