The notified Technical Regulation applies to the following domestically manufactured and imported products marketed in Ecuador:

·        Portable fire extinguishers with a capacity of up to 27 kg (60 lb), regardless of the extinguishing agent used, the agent's extinguishing capacity and the class of fire for which the extinguisher is intended;

·        Portable wheeled fire extinguishers with a capacity of up to 125 l (33 gal) for foam, and 13.6 kg-158.8 kg (30 lb-350 lb) for other types of extinguishers, regardless of the extinguishing agent used, the quantity of extinguishing agent and the class of fire for which the extinguisher is intended;

·        Cylinder, shell or body of portable, or portable wheeled, fire extinguishers; 

·        Dry-chemical and CO₂ extinguishing agents, water-based extinguishing agents and clean agents.
