Royal Decree amending the Royal Decree of 7 April 2019 on the traceability and safety features of tobaccoproducts

The aim of the draft is to amend the Royal Decree of 7 April 2019 in order to:

- Provide for a provision stating that products which are not correctly notified and which are not on the list ofvalidated products cannot obtain a unique identifier code;
- Clarify that the necessary equipment provided by manufacturers is current and future equipment;
- Provide for a provision stating that the costs associated with the operation of the traceability system arereimbursed by tobacco manufacturers;
- Amend the date of 2025 to 2026 as provided for in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/574 of15 December 2017 on technical standards for the establishment and operation of a traceability system fortobacco products.
