Draft amendment of the "Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Plants or Plant Products". Language(s): English. Number of pages: 3

Part B of the "Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Plants or Plant Products" is revised as follows:

1.    New quarantine requirements for host plant seeds of Melon necrotic spot virus (MNSV) from infected areas listed as the draft amendment of subparagraph 53, paragraph 1;

2.    Columnea latent viroid (CLVd) (Pospiviroidae, Pospiviroid), Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV) (Bunyaviridae, Tospovirus), Melon necrotic spot virus (MNSV) (Tombusviridae, carmovirus), Pepper chat fruit viroid (PCFVd) (Pospiviroidae, Pospiviroid), Tomato apical stunt viroid (TASVd) (Pospiviroidae, Pospiviroid), Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) (Virgaviridae, Tobamovirus), Tomato chlorotic dwarf viroid (TCDVd) (Pospiviroidae, Pospiviroid), Tomato mottle mosaic virus (ToMMV) (Virgaviridae, Tobamovirus), Tomato planta macho viroid (TPMVd) (Pospiviroidae, Pospiviroid), Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) (Geminiviridae, Begomovirus) were deleted from the regulated pest list of paragraph 10, part B, since they were already listed in paragraph 1, part B;

3.    The definition of debarked wood is added to the attachment of paragraph 7 "Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Wood". In addition, logs from countries where the Asian longhorn beetle is present, debarked sawn timbers from regions or countries where the Asian longhorn beetle is present, and barks and woods with bark from countries affected by sudden oak death, shall have the species name and origin specified on the phytosanitary certificate issued by the exporting country, or shall undergo appropriate quarantine treatment prior to export;

4.    In accordance with government reorganization, the name of plant quarantine authority has been updated in the relevant requirements. These updates do not affect the requirements for substantive quarantine operations.
