The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s regulations on safety during use ofbuildings.

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning is proposing new regulations on safetyduring use of buildings. The draft regulations specify in more detail the technical characteristics requirementlaid down in Chapter 3, Section 10 of the Planning and Building Ordinance (2011:338), PBF, that buildingsmust be designed and constructed in such a way that they do not pose an unacceptable risk of accidentsduring use or operation.

Chapter 1 of the new regulations contains general provisions on, inter alia, the scope of the regulations,construction products, design, construction and verification of compliance.
Chapter 2 contains provisions that apply when constructing new buildings.
Chapter 3 contains provisions that apply when modifying buildings. The provisions lay down how therequirements laid down in Chapter 2 may be adjusted when modifying buildings.
