The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s regulations on the suitability of housing forits purpose

The Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning is proposing new regulations on thesuitability of housing for its purpose.

The new regulations comprise four chapters.
Chapter 1 contains general provisions on, inter alia, the scope of the regulations, construction products andmaterials, design and construction, building modification and verification of compliance.
Chapter 2 contains provisions on design requirements for housing when constructing new buildings.
Chapter 3 contains provisions on technical characteristics requirements for housing when constructing newbuildings.
Chapter 4 contains provisions on requirements for housing when modifying buildings. The provisions lay downhow compliance with the requirements laid down in Chapters 2 and 3 may be adapted when modifyingbuildings.
