The MRLs for methidathion are being lowered to the limit of quantification as risks of a harmful effect on human health cannot be excluded and therefore the appropriate level of protection has not been met.
The Codex MRLs for methidathion were revoked in December 2023 following the scientific assessment by the JMPR (Joint Meeting of the FAO and WHO on pesticide residues).
This proposal aligns GB MRLs with the Codex standards.
