The notified Regulation seeks to ensure that the labelling affixed to steel for reinforced concrete structures marketed in Chile communicates the product's technical information and characteristics. It aims to standardize and improve the standard of the information provided to all those protected by the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights regarding the technical characteristics that must be met by this product. The notified Regulation establishes the labelling requirements that must be fulfilled for hot-rolled steel bars and rods for the reinforcement of concrete and for smooth and deformed steel bars and rods of circular cross-section, rolled in straight lengths or in coils, and straightened steel bars and rods made from coils for use in reinforced concrete structures, originating in and coming from all countries, and that are to be marketed in Chile and have been packaged for distribution by the supplier. Article 7 of the notified Regulation sets out the information that must be included in the label. The labelling requirements complement the bar marking requirements set forth in the Chilean standards governing hot-rolled steel bars and rods for the reinforcement of concrete.
