The notified Resolution establishes the phytosanitary requirements governing the importation of botanical pepper (Casicum annuum L.) seeds coming from Spain:

·        Botanical pepper seeds originating in Spain that enter Nicaragua must come from areas or sites that are free from the following pests: Pseudomonas viridiflava, tomato brown rugose fruit virus, tomato bushy stunt virus, tomato mosaic virus, pepper mild mottle virus and potato spindle tuber viroid.

·        The phytosanitary certificate must include an additional declaration confirming inspection by the National Plant Protection Organization and indicating that the seeds are free from: Pseudomonas viridiflava, tomato brown rugose fruit virus, tomato bushy stunt virus, tomato mosaic virus, pepper mild mottle virus and potato spindle tuber viroid.

·        Containers must be new, duly labelled and marked, indicating the species, variety and country of origin.

·        The seeds will be subject to phytosanitary inspection at the point of entry into the country.
