Order of the Minister for Health of the Republic of Lithuania establishing the maximum limits for trans fatty acids in foods
(hereinafter ‘draft order’).
The draft order provides that:
1. the maximum limit for trans fatty acids in foods placed on the market in the Republic of Lithuania, including foods supplied by mass caterers (hereinafter, ‘foods’), shall be 2 g per 100 g of total fat content;
2. in foods with a total fat content of less than 3 %, the maximum limit for trans fatty acids shall be 10 g per 100 g of total fat content; and
3. animal fats and foods having a natural trans fatty acid content shall be exempt from its requirements.
